There are many reasons why a woman might consider a breast augmentation procedure. These reasons can range from simply being dissatisfied with your natural bust size right through to losing breast mass and shape after child birth. While many women might harbor a secret desire to have bigger boobs, sometimes fear of the unknown might prevent them taking the next step into finding out if a breast augmentation procedure might be suitable for them.
While it’s true that any woman considering surgery to enhance their breast size needs to be informed and ask as many questions as needed during their breast augmentation consultation, it’s also true that many women won’t get the chance to ask these questions. They simply won’t head down this path because they feel uneasy about the breast augmentation consultation.
Some of the questions that we hear of that may contribute to this hesitancy are, “will I be judged?”….”Will I be considered vain?”….”Am I going to be pressured in any way?”….”Will I feel obligated to the surgeon?”….
If you want to at least explore the possibility of a breast augmentation procedure then you owe it to yourself to push through these self constructed barriers. Remember that the vast majority of plastic surgeons are experienced, professional, and have a real desire to help their patients.
The initial breast augmentation consultation is a great chance to ask your niggling questions, let the surgeon know what your expectations are, hear what their suggestions are, let the surgeon examine you and find out if surgery is suitable for you.
Sometimes knowing what to expect during the breast augmentation consultation will alleviate your fears and unease.
In the following video Dr. McCormack highlights the questions and procedures typically covered during a breast augmentation consultation.
